HOW WE MANAGE COSTS
BC One Call is a not for profit corporation supported by our member companies who, in the interest of safety and damage prevention, pay for each notification they receive.
As a not for profit organization we apply any excess revenue into membership fee reduction, improving our system, increasing our membership, publicizing our services to the digging community, and developing public safety programs and standards.
Members pay a one-time joining fee based on the size of their infrastructure of between $100 and $2,500. If becoming a shareholder of BC One Call, which will give you a seat on our Board of Directors is of interest to you there is a one time joining fee of $30,000.
In support of the one call system our members pay $2.75 per notification. Many of our members consider the notification fee to be a very economical form of insurance when compared to the high cost of repairing damage to their infrastructure. As our membership grows we anticipate the $2.75 notification fee may be reduced because our fixed costs are spread over more members and more locate requests.
